Johnson Engineering welcomes Ecologist, Sarah Webber

Sarah WebberSarah joins Johnson Engineering from the Seminole Tribe of Florida where she worked as the Tribe’s Wildlife Biologist for six years. Her experience includes surveying and monitoring Florida wildlife including federal and state listed species such as the northern crested caracara, gopher tortoise, Everglade snail kite, Florida scrub jay and Florida panther.  She has extensive experience in National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Section 7 consultation under the Endangered Species Act, tribal laws and sovereignty as well as many other federal regulations.  Her previous work also involved writing biological assessments for many types of projects, prescribed burn plans and other land management activities, in addition to, project and mitigation plan permitting and compliance, developing and maintaining project and species GIS databases, and community outreach.  Sarah is an Authorized Gopher Tortoise Agent (GTA-10-00083) and has several SCUBA certifications. Ryan Bell, P.E. earns PTOE Certification

Ryan BellJohnson Engineering’s Director of Transportation, Ryan Bell, P.E., has recently earned his Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) certification. This nationally recognized certification demonstrates knowledge, skill and ability in the specialized application of traffic operations engineering. Having a Professional Traffic Operations Engineer on staff compliments our current roadway design and inspection services and allows us to provide our clients with additional services such as signalization design and a wide array of traffic studies and analyses.

Peggy Grant becomes certified in Marine Turtle Exterior Lighting

Environmental team Senior Ecologist has successfully completed the U.S. Fish & Wildlife and Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission’s Official Marine Turtle Exterior Lighting course and exam.

Peggy has more than 19 years of professional environmental experience in Southwest Florida. Her experience includes working on projects from the due diligence phase, through environmental permitting, to the post-permitting/monitoring phase. Peggy’s areas of expertise are vegetation mapping (including identifying natural communities and summarizing their native and exotic/invasive vegetation), wetland delineations, protected species surveys (general and species-specific), and environmental resource permitting. She prepares preserve management/mitigation plans to ensure the preserve areas are restored and maintained as natural communities for the benefit of wildlife (including protected species) and the public (if appropriate). The preserve management/mitigation plans include an exotic/invasive vegetation control plan; restoration/enhancement (of vegetation communities or to hydrology) activities; vegetation monitoring methodologies; wildlife monitoring protocols and reporting; and a schedule to implement the components of the management plan.

Erik Howard, P.E., Earns LEED Accreditation

Erik Howard, P.E., has become a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) accredited professional through the Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI). He is a project engineer on the Fort Myers utilities group team. Erik handles utility projects from design to final close out. His experience includes hydraulic modeling, design for pressure pipe, surface water, groundwater, sanitary sewer, and construction phase services. Erik became a state licensed water well contractor and gained invaluable specialized direction drilling knowledge during his time working for an underground utility contractor.

David Trouteaud Earns Florida Professional Engineering License

David TrouteaudDavid Trouteaud, P.E., has earned his State of Florida Professional Engineering license. As project engineer, he specializes in utility master planning, hydraulic modeling, design of water distribution systems, wastewater collection systems and irrigation systems. David frequently works with Johnson Engineering’s land development group, assisting with the design of utility systems for developments throughout Florida.

Andrew Tilton, P.E. Appointed to FDOT District 1 Florida Greenbook Advisory Committee

FORT MYERS, FL (June 2009) – Johnson Engineering Principal, Andrew Tilton, P.E., has recently been asked to serve as FDOT District 1 representative on the Florida Greenbook Advisory Committee. This assignment is to aid in the development of the Manual of Uniform Minimum Standards for Design, Construction, and Maintenance for Streets and Highways. Andy will serve as the non-governmental representative for the District 1 committee. Tilton has been with Johnson Engineering for more than 30 years and has been involved with water management in Southwest Florida throughout this time.
