James “Vee” Lofton Named Director of Construction Engineering & Inspection Team

FORT MYERS, FL (April 2009) – Johnson Engineering has named James “Vee” Lofton Jr., as director of its construction engineering & inspection (CEI) team.
Vee joined Johnson Engineering in January 2008 as a transportation CEI project administrator and has more than 20 years of experience in roadway and bridge construction, project administration, and inspection in both traditional design-bid-build and design-build projects.
Vee’s extensive experience also includes interstate highways and major bridges, pile driving, earthwork, sub grade and base construction, asphalt paving, drainage items, and all types of utilities and related relocations. He specializes in document control for both quality assurance, quality control testing and is well versed with the FDOT requirements for verification testing and document control.
His previous experience as a consultant program manager with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) gives him a unique perspective of the bidding process, construction techniques utilized, as well as an understanding of the maintaining agency’s needs after construction has been completed.

Ricardo Acosta Earns Florida Professional Engineering License

Ricardo Acosta, Fort Myers surface water management team, has earned his State of Florida Professional Engineering (P.E.) license. He is a stormwater engineer in the surface water management team and handles the design and permitting of surface water management systems that service mixed use developments, roadways and municipal projects. Rick has prior experience working on the design and construction management of the Southwest Florida International Airport expansion project and determining quantities for pay, participating in resolution of design and construction related issues, and in contract close-out documentation.

Sean Rodeheffer joins firm as transportation project administrator

FORT MYERS, FL (August 2008) – Johnson Engineering has hired Sean Rodeheffer as a project administrator for the Construction Engineering Inspection team in the firm’s Transportation Services Group.

With extensive experience in major bridge construction and road and highway construction, including seven years with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), Sean will add valuable expertise to Johnson Engineering’s transportation improvement projects with the FDOT and local municipalities.
Sean’s background also includes work on numerous heavy construction projects, contractor oversight, and researching and writing scopes for clients.
